What We Offer

Students

We provide monthly experiential language learning opportunities for students. All events are led by Mandarin Instructors and allow youth to be creative, play and build community while using their second language.

Parents

We provide monthly meetups for parents to network, participate in workshops and share resources to support and encourage your child’s success as a Mandarin Language learner.

Schools

We are working with teachers, administrators and consultants to develop comprehensive and culturally sensitive workshops addressing cultural competence and inclusion specifically for Mandarin Language teachers.

PAASSC

Parents of African American Students Studying Chinese (PAASSC) are families that see the benefit of raising bilingual global citizens with varying motivations for selecting Chinese. We are exposing our children to a larger world perspective at every opportunity. Being fluent in Chinese is only one of their many talents.

PAASSC families understand that supportive communities encourage confident and engaged learners. We provide experiential language learning opportunities for our children and we are supporting teachers and administrators to ensure our children are provided with equitable and inclusive classroom experiences.
